Today is the day that has loomed before us from the moment we began walking. We will walk 31 km over the highest pass and drop down into Triacastela. Despite an early start, the sun was up!

No matter how small the hamlet, there is usually a small Church.
Or, sometimes one a bit larger.

We are getting closer to the top and we are still smiling. (There will be no picks of us by the time we arrive :-)

According to legend, the Holy Grail was hidden here. Pope Innocent VIII certified a miracle that occurred here. A peasant hiked though a dangerous snowstorm to hear Mass. The priest chastised him for risking his life for a bit of bread and wine. At that moment, the bread and wine turned to flesh and blood.
What goes up must come down.
And down...
