St. Margaret's Episcopal Church - A Center of Grace
What we offer to Family's
Welcome to you and your family On Sunday Morning
Nursery Care
Nursery Care is provided in the Early Childhood Education Building for infants and toddlers through 3-year olds.
Sunday School (3 years old to 6th grade)
Sunday School classes are held each Sunday morning during the 9:30 AM service. We are using a marvelous program called
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, which involves experiences with scripture and liturgy in an appealing, hands-on way. The children work in a setting called an atrium, or a prepared environment, where they can explore and deepen their relationship with God. The children will also be involved with a brief worship service involving scripture, prayer and music.
We have three atriums led by trained catechists (teachers) and assistants.
The children come into the church during communion so that they can receive communion or a blessing with their families.
Special atrium activities and church activities are planned throughout year. Please refer to the Sunday School registration packet for more information.
Jr. High Youth Ministry and Sr. High Youth Ministry
The Youth meet in the Saint Margaret's Middle School at 9:15 AM:
6th and 7th Graders meet in Room 46 for Rite 13 of the Journey 2 Adulthood Series
8th-12th Graders meet in Highland Hall for Youth Group activities
Both groups will join their families for communion during the service.
Be sure to check the weekly schedule in the Sunday bulletin for updated Youth activities.
Acolytes
Acolytes assist the clergy with the Sunday worship. Any youth 3rd grade and up is welcome to participate. Acolyte “teams” are selected every fall, which include a lead “verger” who oversees the team and the necessary training for all acolyte positions. Shrove Tuesday Parish Supper
Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday and the start of Lent, is traditionally known as the day families eat up all the foods that they may give up in observance of Lent: fats, sugars, butters, meats, etc..... and for Fr. Keith, chocolate!
The French equivalent of this, Mardi Gras, means “Fat Tuesday”.
This year we’re having a Hot Dog and Burger Blast, with the thickest, juiciest burgers in town, along with ALL the trimmings in our supreme Burger Bar.
We’ll also have a BUILD-A-BURGER-CONTEST (but you have to be able to eat your whole burger in order to be in the running for judging). Parishioners will be able to vote for the BEST BURGER on the church website.
All are welcome! (Free Will Offering)
